St. John's Bar & Grill is home of the "Best Burgers in Silicon Valley" and has served the "Valley" for over 35 years. Famous not only for the best burgers, but also the best Philly cheesesteaks, fresh charbroiled chicken sandwiches, entree sized salads, and without a doubt, the "Best French Fries in the Universe!" All served in a comfortable, friendly environment inside or outside on our beautiful patio. So whether you come to watch your favorite team on one of our many nice large HDTV's or to try the latest offering from your favorite microbrewery, its the food that will keep you coming back for years to come.
For over 35 years we have made it our mission to serve only quality food consistently. So here's a little information about our quality.
Burgers, Chicken and Phillys
First, let us state that our meat is delivered fresh. Our burgers are a blend of 80-20 special recipe angus chuck that is made fresh for us. We slice our Philly steak meat in house. The Philly steak is thin sliced ribeye and the chicken philly is made from thinly sliced chicken breast. Our chicken sandwiches are made with fresh (not frozen) boneless, skinless chicken breast grilled to perfection.
Our "Just-Cut Fries"
Technically they are Pomme Frites. Pomme what?
Pomme Frites is the true Belgian-style French fry. Fresh cut potatoes (we get them daily), first cooked at a lower temperature to blanche them and then the final cooking for a few minutes at a high temperature. Creating the crispy, delicious Pomme Frites or French Fries. Well, heck we just thought you should know we've been cooking our fries this way for over 30 years. So for us, this is nothing new, just the rest of the world catching up to the great Belgian-style way to cook French fries.
Our Condiments and Sauces
We make our guacamole and salsa daily from fresh ingredients. We also mix our Ranch & Bleu Cheese dressings daily and cook up our own BBQ sauce from scratch. We created these fabulous dipping sauces and make them fresh as well: Chipolte Ketchup, Curry Ketchup and Honey Mustard. These sauces aren't just for dipping our "just-cut fries" but they taste great on Burgers, Chicken Sandwiches, Philly's and the Honey Mustard is an excellent salad dressing as well.
We blend THREE different chillies, garlic, almonds, raisins, cinnamon, tomatoes, mangoes, maple syrup, molasses, honey, onion, spices: kosher salt, pepper, cayenne, allspice, chile powder and finish it off with a touch of chocolate. All simmered together these ingredients make a delicious treat on a Burger, Chicken sandwich or Philly CheeseSteak. All are topped with provolone cheese, avocado, cilantro and pickled red onions. (Yes, we pickle the onions ourselves).
